Ice Pond offers technical bouldering in a wooded setting in Brewster, Putnam County, about a 70-minute drive from New York City, depending on traffic. The approach is moderate, with a hike of up to about 15 minutes to reach the boulders. Cooler weather generally makes for more comfortable sessions, as the area can get humid and buggy in warmer months. Ticks are also present, so come prepared with insect repellent, consider wearing long pants for the approach, and check for ticks afterward. Bring plenty of water, especially during the summer.
