Description: Watch Takuto Lehr climb Unknown (V2) at Ice Pond. View the climbing video, climber stats, and route details on Rockclimbr.

Ice Pond offers technical bouldering in a wooded setting in Brewster, Putnam County, about a 70-minute drive from New York City, depending on traffic. The approach is moderate, with a hike of up to about 15 minutes to reach the boulders.

Cooler weather generally makes for more comfortable sessions, as the area can get humid and buggy in warmer months. Ticks are also present, so come prepared with insect repellent, consider wearing long pants for the approach, and check for ticks afterward. Bring plenty of water, especially during the summer.

Sit start on arete with left hand on left facing crimp on the left side if the arete and right hand on right facing crimp on the right side of the arete. The top out might feel hard at first, but it is not too bad once you have the beta figured out.
